As you could tell from the last post we went somewhere warm and sunny! We ventured to Sanibel Island with my mom, dad, and Brandon. Daddy stayed home and got the mail and fed the fish! Oh and worked, worked and golfed!
The trip was fun. It was great to have the boys out in the sun without jackets and mittens on. Hayden was in heaven. He built many sand castles, dams and jumped waves. Carson tried to eat a lot of seashells! The weather was a tad cold but really warmed up the last two days we were there. We only had a half day of rain too. Everybody I talked to that went elsewhere in Florida had lots of rain! Carson had some kind of illness down there but one call to Dr. Maria and all was better with a little antibiotic. I had forgotten how beautiful Sanibel and Captiva are, natural beauty at its finest!
Some of the things we did: Twins Spring Training with Joe Mauer playing!, Yankees and Rays game(Rays won), lots of good food eaten at the Varsity(biggest drive in, its's huge!), Michaelbob's(bbq), the Crave(kinda swanky), Pizza at Island Pizza(We ate there the first time we went to Sanibel, still good!), Doc Ford's(we had raw oyster that were oh so fresh), Biddle's Bucket(We had yummy, yummy grouper so good), homemade ice cream at the Love Boat, trip isn't complete without a Sonic and Cracker Barrel stop! We went on a Dolphin Cruise and saw lots of dolphins dancing in the water, went to a Nature Preserve or two, we toured the Edison and Ford Winter Estates(very neat!), went to Silver Springs and relaxed on the beach. We stayed at a very nice Holiday Inn on Sanibel(We've stayed before) everybody is so nice and the place is SO clean and well kept. We saw lots of neat creatures in the water, calico crab, box crab( I think!), Hermit Crab, lots of birds, turtles, alligators, fish(Hayden and I rescued a fish that was caught in low tide, and did lots of shelling and saw dancing scallops(Hayden got the giggles so bad when he saw the scallop moving in the water upright). We saw shells spit water too. We had a picnic with grilled burgers at Bowman's Beach and played at the park. There was so much its hard to remember!
Both boys did super in the car(s). Carson barely fussed and Hayden was perfect. His Didj and DVD player are to thank for that!
We stopped at Ella's in Madison both times through(We love Ellas!) Carson was treated to his first order from a menu. They had a baby plate with a little big of yogurt, applesauce, shredded cheese, turkey, Mandarin oranges(He had never had them before and LOVES them!), peas and carrots and crackers with jam. So cute watching him eat his lunch.
Okay some Random things from the trip...
**Hayden telling Brandon that someday he should wise up and come with him to Angies to play with Jacob.
**Ummm...leaving with the Tahoe and not returning with it!
**Carson making lip smacking noises when he wants water.
**Being in a traffic jam in Georgia and watching a guy jump out of his truck, go to the back and grabbing beers out of his cooler and passing them out to the cars around him. When asking why a truck wasn't moving up a girl yelling out the window "We can't move yet, we're waiting for our beers." Yeah. Only in Georgia.
**My mom running up to DQ barefoot a half hour after they closed and asking for ice cream...and getting it. How she does it??
**Using 6 year old sunscreen and getting sun burnt!
**The kindest people who went above and beyond to help us when we most needed it.

Oh Carson how you've changed so much this month! I forgot to do your post on the 8th so I'm doing it on the 10th but for a good reason! Yesterday you walked across the living room! I was so proud! I was lucky enough to have worked goofy hours that day and was home in the afternoon to see! I am pretty sure you did it on the 9th just spite your dad who has always said you'd walk when you were 9 months old.

You now wave on command, do so big and clap. You sign more sometimes but it looks an awful lot like So Big and not more...but as long as we know what it means I guess we are okay! You also give kisses on command!

You love your brother so much and always say "Hay Hay Hay" you zoom into his room in the morning and bounce next to his bed in excitement. Your brother also has more interest in you these days! He will pick you up(Mommy doesn't really this!) and drag you around, more or less to get you out of this things.

You love to play ball with us, you just learned to throw the ball back to us and do very well! I am thinking you are almost going to be a sport nut like you brother! But unlike your brother you really seem to like Cars and Trucks. You spend 20 minutes looking at all the cars in our car bin. Just picking one up and looking at it and then putting it down. You still love to play with your toys...you are a very good player. Please, please continue this!

You still love food and eat anything and everything. You love to drink water out of your sippy cups, especially at meal time. You love, love your bananas too! And carbohydrates.

You are a very beautiful boy and you amaze us everyday!

Clothes 9-12 months.

Diapers size 3.

Weight I think about 21.5(just a guess though!)

Please, Please be a good boy next week! Reason to follow!!!

We walked again this year to Mn Point via the ice from Loons Foot Landing. We had fun and it was warm!

Ohhh Hayden. This the look you gave me when I told you no to playing the Wii. It was unforgettable and when I asked you to do it again, you nailed it!

This weekend we were driving home from Duluth and Hayden said "You know what I am going to do to get money when I'm big? I am going to be a Tour Guide. I want to show people where the bathrooms are in hotels and show them their rooms. I want to work at a hotel with a waterpark."

Well Hayden we'd love for you to show us our way during Spring Break....practice makes perfect!
