Texas!

Well after many, many hours in the car we are home safe from Texas. We started off Tuesday night driving and night a MAJOR snowstorm, if not blizzard. It took us 5 hours to get from Des Moines to Kansas City. It should of taken 2 or 2.5. It was crazy and we saw many semis and cars in the ditch. It was very nerve wrecking and i wanted to vomit. After nobody slept that night we drove on to Houston arriving around 9 on Wednesday. Hayden was SUPER good the way down. He is such a good traveler. Just like the Buffalo.(Wink) Michael and Laura meet us at our hotel in The Woodlands 9 exits away from their apartment. We were meet with 50 degree weather but still ventured out to the hot tub that night.

Thursday we all woke up after sleeping like babies and went and saw Michael and Laura's apartment. Then we went to the Houston Port for a boat tour on the Sam Houston and lunch at Sonic, a Southern Staple. We went and played Mini Golf, go carting, and arcade games about a mile from Michael and Laura's place. I have just let everyone know that i kicked everyone's butt at golf! We then wanted Mexican food so we drove down the Interstate past 1000 Mexican restaurants before randomly picking one. Hayden fell asleep and slept through out dinner. We all had a great time with yummy warm salsa, big margaritas, and great food. Cheap too! I had the greatest Mushroom and spinach enchiladas. I need to find a recipe. Oh yeah the temp was right around 75 and perfect out!

Friday was spent at the beach in Galveston. It was the perfect day. Warm, sunny with a nice warm breeze. Hayden had the time of his life jumping in the ocean into the waves and throwing seashells and rocks. It was just awesome! We ate at Casey's Cafe and had yummy fresh seafood.
Saturday we went swimming and to the Children's Museum before heading home a little earlier then played. Some little 3 year old was cranky! It was fun and sad to say good bye to Michael and Laura.

Goodness it was cold on the way home. It was beyond cold. I froze the whole way home in the car with 2 pairs of socks, sweatshirts, and lots of blankets. Yuck! I want to go back already!

It was so fun to watch you jump and play in the ocean. Glad to hear you had nice weather. Those of us you left behind could only dream of warmer weather as we had -40 degree windchill's. Glad to hear you had a good time. Love you all, Antie Nah

That Buffalo was the BEST little traveler!! Were there any prairie dogs in Texas?? :)
Glad to have you home safe and sound!
Keep focused on another trip to warm weather in just over a month!! (disregard the +/- 20 hour car ride)
