We had a fantastic Christmas! We hope you did too. We celebrated many ways. Christmas Eve with the Moe Family, Christmas Day morning with my Mom and Dad, Christmas Day Afternoon with Jason's Mom and Dad plus the 3 other celebrations earlier in the month. Carson loves his present Santa brought him, The Leapfrog Learn and Groove Table. This has so many rave reviews from Moms on some of my daily visited websites and boy were they right! He is even pulling himself up on the table already to play with it. Hayden has been asking non stop to play one of his new videogames, but is loving his new Basketball Hoop and all the new games he received, we've been playing all sorts of games. Hayden gave him a pretty ring and Jason gave me Pearls! It was so much fun this year, Hayden really enjoyed everything and Carson loved the wrapping paper and bows....he would crawl to the bows from just about anywhere, especially the sparkly ones!
Hayden celebrate with 2 cakes(Smith made him one with green frosting! Papa bought him one with Green Sprinkles) He even received a couple birthday presents, an AirHog Switchblade from Smith and Papa and Gator Golf from us. We are having his big party on Jan 31st with Sliding and Skating again, apparently this is the only way to celebrate his birthday in his mind!
On Saturday we went to Brainerd with my mom and dad for a little vacation(Hayden told us it was the best vacation ever!) We enjoyed the waterpark, cookie decorating, playing in the arcade and other Brainerd musts, like eating pie at the Barn. On the way home we drove past an awesome light display in Sawyer(like 35 minutes from home), check out the link! We also got a super flat tire, but made it to the Holiday/Mcdonalds by Spirit Mountain and then Jason came and rescued us. We love that boy!
We now are resting, trying to find room for all the new toys(there is a ton!) and cleaning up all the boxes.
Happy New Year! Cheers to a great 2010!

Yeah! Carson finally did it! He is officially crawling as of Friday. He now is a trouble maker, pulling himself up on things and pushing buttons on the DVD player. He isn't very fast on our hardwood floors yet...thank goodness!

He also has a few times growled at me, when I tell him no! 7 months and already back talking...I think I am in trouble!

Hayden's excitement for Christmas and his birthday are bursting at the seams. I can't wait to spend this week with him. I have a few things in store for him.

I am officially on Christmas Vacation, oh wait Winter Break. I couldn't be happier...I was getting snippy with those sassy teenagers.

My friend Sarah lost her dear father in law on Wednesday. Please keep her and their family in your prayers. Its so nice to have her home for the next couple weeks. I miss her terribly.

We've celebrated 3 out of our 5 christmas(es). We had so much fun at all of them. Hayden has so much fun playing with his cousins. Jessica on Jason's side and all the crew on mine(Jacob, Ben, Hudsen, Toby etc!) Its fun to see him play so nicely with everyone...we were always a little worried about his socializing.

Carson was Baby Jesus at the Routh family Christmas(Hayden was the wisest wise man!!Well in my opinion!) He was super cute sitting on stage in his swaddling. Hayden was very proud of him too. Hayden also loved his blue shiny dress and crown. We've talked about the birth of Jesus and he knows the role of the wise men, and thought it was cool he was bringing his brother a gift.

We've been to Bentleyville twice. I highly recommend going. It was well worth the 90 minute wait to see Hayden and Jessica's faces when they meet Santa and received their hats(Hayden picked Green, of course!)

I turn 26 tomorrow. Yikes!

Here is a mini slideshow of some of my favorite pictures I've taken recently...

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, we did! Hayden is now officially 4! He is making sure we all know how to act and talk like a 4 year old. (You Don't talk to a kid like that, I'm only 4!, When you were 4 you were naughty too!) Christmas a very long few days. Hayden got so much stuff. We have been building, coloring, putting in batteries etc.
He also had his 4 year well child appointment. Doctor Maria loves Hayden! She was there the night he was born and always remembers he is a Christmas Baby. She was impressed by him(aren't we all!!!) and said she thought Preschool wouldn't really be necessary except the social aspect so only 1 or 2 days a week, part time. I agree with her! He is the perfect size of your average 5 year old. Last year he was the perfect size of your average 4 year old, so i guess he is staying on track. She said not to worry about his size because his BMI was fine. Hayden and Dr. Maria carried on a nice conversation about him, his daily activities and so on. It was really cute to listen to him talk to another adult.
This week Hayden got his first pair of Ice Skates, he unfortunately haven't been able to take him yet, its cold! He is very excited and just wants to go. My friend Sarah is up from Arizona so we have been spending time with her and Breckin, so much fun! I bought out Old Navy's Maternity clearance at .97 a piece. Jason has been working a lot lately but has the next couple days off. We are going Ice Fishing on Thursday(I've never been!) and doing something else on Friday as a family.
In Baby news this little guy has been a mover and shaker. I am excited to see him again on Tuesday. Jason and I have some names narrowed down that we both like! Emery is one of them but we think we have one that might stick and not sharing yet! But middle name suggestions are welcomed!
Have a Happy New Year! Our plans are pretty nonexistent! Oh well we don't care! =)

Merry Christmas!

We are a very excited household as Christmas is a very big time of the year. Hayden wakes up daily and asks if today is the day Santa is coming. I can finally tell him yes its today! We've already celebrated 2 of our 5 christmas get together. Both we very fun with yummy food and seeing family we've haven't seen in a while. Jason and I got a new Wii game that is silly and fun and has induced a lot of laughs lately. Hayden was a wiseman in our Nativity play and did a very good job, and took it seriously.

Hayden is thinking he has already turned 4. We had a small party for him and since then, he is 4! I celebrated my birthday on Sunday. We have a cake ready to bring to the Christmas parties. Its all so exciting. I finally finished wrapping presents last night, as thats something I hate to do and usually Jason does it but he had some work to do.

We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Christmas is over? Boy does it fly by. My computer is having some issues lately and i couldnt sign on to the blog for two days it was driving me nuts! We had a great christmas getting way to much. I got a new black coat which i am in love with, even Jason really likes it! He got Wii games, golf stuff and a basketball hoop. Hayden got everything! A bike from Santa, Camera, lots of Diego stuff, tools, uber cute sweater from my mom. Now all we need is a LOT of batteries!

My baby is 3! We sang, he sang, lots of people sang! He did very well. It was a long day but we did it! I made sure to tell him Happy Birthday first before all the Merry Christmas. The Buffy is gone. Santa brought it to all the babies who needed them. He cried himself to sleep on Christmas, i wasnt to far off either. Jason had to work the next morning and was sleeping when i was up with Hayden sobbing until 1 am, i was in Hayden's room thinking bad thoughts about Jason! But come the morning he said he heard him and felt bad too. So i took back all the bad things! Sorry Jason. He was fine yesterday and we'll see how today goes. I am the one who needs to be strong.

We have been playing games at night with either Sarah and Casey or Emily and Aaron. I forgot how much i love to play games. We've been having fun. We haven't even really had time to play all our new Wii games. I did try my new game and it's "Mama's Cook Off" it was fun weird too! We don't play our Wii when Hayden is awake or here so we have very limited time to play, but i HATE video games for kids. Our child will NOT ever get a video game system until he's like 16. Computer is fine, a lot easier for me to monitor the play.

I am going to get some video of Hayden singing and pictures on today so check back! Also i think i am going to change the layout and look of the blog so watch for that! If something doesn't work or you don't like let me know!

We hope everybody has a Very Merry Christmas. We were lucky enough to celebrate 2 of our 8 Christmas parties this weekend. We had great fun at both of them. Hayden Driving a Greyhound at the History Museum

What a crazy time of the year, and i love it all! Hayden is growing closer and closer to three. I read that in my mom's Christmas letter and got very teary eyed. I know he is going to be three but seeing it on paper saddened me. He is really growing up and so fast. He is just like a little man too! He takes very good care of me, helping me to keep my purse very close, at all times. Telling me we always wash our hands. Making sure i have my blanket with me anytime i am sitting down for too long. Bringing me my coffee cup in the morning if i walk away from it. He is a good boy! Of course i say all of that very sarcastically. He is a good helper, a little too good some days!
Well we made a very busy Moe Weekend. We stayed at the Crown Plaza in Downtown St Paul. We were on the 18th floor in a corner room with a great view! River on one side and skyline on the other. We walked around a bit in downtown and to the Excel center where we saw High School Musical on Ice. It was cute! I have never seen the movies but it reminded me of Grease kind of. Hayden seemed to enjoy it for the most part too. He liked the fireworks! We had a few quick Museum stops, Childrens and History. Hayden got to run around like a nut! Of course a stop to the Candyland Candy Store, a must. A bunch of great restaurants and a visit with Jessica and Lisa for pictures. A great weekend.
I will end with a few pictures. Christmas Cards are coming i just can't find the best picture and i have been taking pictures like crazy!

A Christmas Card, one of them!

An attempted Christmas Card picture!

Well we made it in to December! And just over a year with the blog!! Hayden and I decorated cookies last night, just the whole slice and bake ones. And i had an idea. I would love everybody's favorite, easiest!, cookie recipes. Or great cookie ideas. Either email me or leave a comment! I would love to get a few!

Boy do we have snow! I love it! So far. I also think i have developed an allergy to my Christmas tree. I have had a Sinus headache only when i am home since we got the silly thing. I LOVE real trees and will stick it out, but boy does it make it hard to enjoy! Hayden was so much fun decorating the tree. He really got in to it at first. He put ornaments all over. He picked out his favorite, a little pillow and pretends to sleep on it. Silly Boy. He has not once bothered the tree since we put it up. One little ball found its way in but thats all!

Thats but all thats going on lately. Christmas shopping, cleaning have taken up a lot of time! I can't find the perfect christmas card picture either. So that means Hayden is going to have to pose lots for mommy! Have a good week!

Update: No pictures happened last night! Hayden fell asleep and I couldn't wake him up. Appointment on Friday!

Here is a picture of Hayden in Brandon's new room! And a good example of his hair cut.
Enjoying the Snow!

Wow another week has blown by! For my MN readers any big bucks this year? WI are you ready for the big hunt this weekend? Jason is. He is like a little kid at Christmas. He also gets 9 days off of work! Usually for this vacation he only gets a few days off, so he is REALLY happy. He told me he has lost is omph lately at work and needs to get it back! Nothing like a week in a deer stand by yourself to make you want to go back to work, right!

Stuff I want to get done during Hunting Season:

  • Christmas Tree and Decorations up.

  • Finish Christmas Shopping(Yes thats right finish!)

  • Make my Apple Crisp, French Silk Pie, and Sweet Potato Casserole(For Thanksgiving!)

  • Get All my loose ends done at work

  • Hopefully paint the bathroom

Hayden has been a non stop talking hoot lately. "Why" "Why" "Why" Its enough to drive one nuts! But after talking to my aunt whose Grandson doesn't ask these type of questions i am quite Thankful for my wonderful, smart, beautiful son.

We have had a little issue potty training. He can't seem to make it to the bathroom. He has wet on my Pottery Barn bath mat one to many times! But we did better this weekend and only had one accident. Pullups are great!

Anybody have any ideas on the buffy? I'd love to hear them. I once heard of someone putting all the buffys in a stocking and then Santa would take them and leave gifts in return. Or putting them all in a baggie and sending them to Sarah for her baby. Hayden is a sucker for babies!

We are getting Hayden's Christmas pictures taken tomorrow, hopefully! We have his dorky little christmas sweater vest! I'll post the link to the pics on thursday if they are ready by then. I have a truckload of Sears coupons, so hopefully i can pick up something nice!

Hayden is a huge christmas/winter freak like me! I am so proud. He was SO happy it snowed on Friday and Saturday, of course none stuck, but he saw it and got to even throw a snowball. We are going to have a fun winter! We have been listening to Christmas music too! He only likes one song though, Jingle Bells. But he loves to sing and is learning the words!

Well i hope everyone has a great week! Check out the poll i am putting up, i need help!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone. I didn't know my mom's letter would bring so many visitors. Thanks for looking at our blog. We are glad that everyone can see how big Hayden was gotten over the last 2 years. We just started this last month, so take a look at the back blogs, there aren't too many. Happy Holidays.
Love The Smiths.

Well we've recovered from another day. Sometimes it seems like you might not. Oh the joys of being two(well almost). We went out to lunch yesterday with Nana and Papa and Hayden was throwing food in a restaurant. I was so frustrated at him. But he knows know that we only throw balls. Yeah. But he had another crazy time in the water park. He loves to swim so much. He also went down to Macy's and walked through the 8th floor display. It was Mary Poppins this year and very good, as always. Hayden seemed to watch and look at everything. Then we went and saw Santa.

It of course ended with Hayden crying he wouldn't even shake his hand. Oh well. Maybe next year. Then we went down to the Lower Level and had dinner. My mom and I shared some dishes. One was tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Hayden saw those cherry tomatoes and wanted one so bad, he had a huge smile on his face before he put that fork in and then he chewed. I have never seen such an awful face. Out came the tomato and he actually quivered in disgust. He did not like it. It of course was kind of funny for the rest of us. We've been walking a bit in downtown Minneapolis and Hayden really seems to like riding in his stroller, there is so much to look at for him. Well i better go brace myself for another day with a two year old. Have a great day.
